Private Hospitals

Private hospitals are very common in locations like the United States, Australia, and United Kingdom. A private hospital is considered private because of the owners of the hospital and the way the hospital accepts funding. For example an owner of the private hospital is as the name suggests private, meaning its not public or government ran. Often times in the United States it is owned by a non profit organization. The way payment differs in this type of hospital is that payment is accepted through insurers and patients, there is no funding from the government either. Most private hospitals are classified as one of the following: maternity, medical, surgical, or geriatric. There is even an emergency hospital.Often times private hospitals are considered upper class, as their surroundings are often at a higher standard. Most private hospitals are spread out over more square footage, thus allowing more space between those staying in the hospital, this has also been found to reduce infection for patients. Private hospitals also offer patients more comfort most of the time simply due to the space and in feeling more at home while staying at the hospital. Private hospitals also offer a patient more freedom in choosing when to have their procedure and also the physician that performs the procedure. Most often each patient in a private hospital has one person that looks after them directly during their stay besides a physician. Also, there are often more services that can be provided at a private hospital than at a public hospital. The reason for the vast difference in quality of care between a private and public hospital is that there is usually more funds available in a private hospital. This is because the private hospital is not given a budget and funds from the government, they go not have to ask for more money. When a hospital has more money it is then able to hire better physicians, equipment, and facilities. When it comes to private and public hospitals, they are run fundamentally similar. However, when one is visiting a private hospital they will find that a private hospital will run more expensive for a patient that a public hospital will. To conclude, if you choose to make a visit to a private hospital, i’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality of care you receive and the facility in which your receive it in.
